Following a long career as an occupational therapist in Michigan, Cy Eilers opted to “warm up” on Galveston Island. Though she moved here to work as a pediatric supervisor at UTMB, she quickly decided to become a licensed Realtor® instead. In 1980, she began selling real estate and quickly became a leading sales agent specializing in West Galveston Island.
Cy's 30+ years experience selling real estate on Galveston and Tiki Islands gives her an advantage to tackle all parts of any transaction.
Several companies have touted her as Top Producer over the years, and now she is excited to be working at the same office where she worked at her first real estate job - the office at Pirates Beach which now houses Sand 'N Sea Properties.
While busy with her real estate work, Cy kept up with her community and professional volunteer work. As a Charter Member of the Women's Association of the Galveston Country Club, she initiated the first Christmas Homes Tour and assisted in program planning and modeling over the years; while a MLS Committee member, she helped establish new forms for GAR. Cy's professional volunteer work continues - she has been elected as a member of the 2011 Board of Directors of GAR.
Mentoring new agents and helping them cope with the challenges of being new to the real estate profession is a role that Cy has always enjoyed. She has many loyal and grateful colleagues who have benefited from her guidance.
Cy is a member of Galveston Association of Realtors® (GAR), Houston Association of Realtors® (HAR), Texas Association of Realtors® (TAR) and the National Association of Realtors® (NAR).
Cy's husband, Hank, is retired from education and he maintains an official title: "Cy's Assistant." Together they have five children and ten grandchildren who are welcomed into their Eckerts Bayou home as often as possible.
Cy believes that a real estate transaction is only beginning at the closing. Should a storm be brewing and shutters need closing or deck furniture needs moving, or if freezing temperatures require that pipes need draining, Cy is there. She truly loves the real estate business and the people she serves.
