ABOUT SAND `N SEA PROPERTIES

Sand `N Sea Properties was founded by Bert and David Feinman in 1974.  David, a highly regarded developer and homebuilder, had worked on West Galveston Island since the early 1960s. Among his accomplishments was the development of Sea Isle, one of the largest subdivisions on the West End. He also served as consultant to the developers of the Isla del Sol and Pointe San Luis subdivisions. Over a period of thirty-plus years, David built almost one thousand homes on the West End. Through several storms and hurricanes, the majority of the homes he built continue to stand, a testament to his excellent homebuilding skills.

In 1975, Bert founded the vacation rentals department in response to requests from new second-home owners. She and her small staff managed fourteen properties with the help of a "reservation system" - some pencils and a master calendar which was shared among the rental agents.

In 1983, Bert's daughter, Anne Reiswerg, joined the company to assist with the expanding vacation rentals business, and after David's death in 1996, Anne and Bert decided to concentrate on real estate sales and vacation rentals. Bert's second daughter, Claire Reiswerg, joined the company in 2002, and she focuses on marketing and community work.

Today, Sand `N Sea manages approximately 145 vacation homes with the assistance of a computerized reservation system and a team of rental agents, inspectors, housekeepers and maintenance personnel.  Sand `N Sea also owns and operates a Housekeeping Service Center near the 11 mile road which houses its commercial laundry.

Sand `N Sea has fourteen Realtors® who sold over $44 million of West Galveston property during 2008. According to 2009 MLS statistics, Sand `N Sea listed and sold more real estate than any other real estate company on Galveston Island. Sand `N Sea Realtors® consistently rank among the top 20 Producers in Galveston.

Sand `N Sea is deeply involved in the Galveston community, participating in discourse and action on many issues such as tax dollar allocation to the West End, the quality of services provided by the City of Galveston, Galveston Parks Board, and the State of Texas and in 2008-09, and the many issues surrounding recovery after Hurricane Ike. Sand `N Sea advocates for sand replenishment, dune conservation, beach cleaning and responsible development. Sand `N Sea is a proud sponsor of Friends of Galveston Island State Park, Pirates Beach and Bay Foundation, Galveston Island Nature Tourism Council, FeatherFest and the West Galveston Island Property Owners Association.
