Galveston Island is now filled with whimsical sculptures which have replaced the majestic oaks Galveston lost to Hurricane Ike. Some sculptures are tucked into gardens and nestled into side yards while others are proudly on display near the street. It’s easy to see the eclectic collection of oak artwork – just take a leisurely walk or bike ride around the Island’s East End.
